Who is the Grand Canyon Lead Designer?
Hello there! I’m Marcus Lowell Tibesar, the lead designer here at Grand Canyon Web Design. I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit of my journey with you.
My story begins with my Belgian ancestors and takes quite a few twists and turns before landing me here in beautiful Arizona. I’m a proud husband to my wonderful wife Ria (50 years and counting!), father to four amazing boys, and grandfather to four delightful grandkids. Family is everything to me, and I’m blessed to have such a great one.

My professional journey has been quite the adventure. I spent 21 years serving our country as a US Naval Officer, rising through the ranks from a young E1 to O3. I’m proud to be a Vietnam Era Veteran, having served off the coast of Vietnam on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CV-61). My naval career also included service aboard the nuclear-powered USS Enterprise (CVN-65). During my time in the Navy, I worked as a Data Processing Technician (now called Information Systems), and let me tell you, I’ve seen some changes in technology over the years!

My naval career took Ria and me around the world. We lived in the Philippines (where we met – I was just a 21-year-old seaman, but I knew she was the one!), San Diego, Hawaii, Alameda, Charleston, and finally, Sierra Vista, Arizona. Each place left its mark on us, and we treasure those memories.

After retiring from the Navy, I wasn’t done serving. I worked for several government contractors, then joined the US Air Force in Government Service. I even had a stint developing mobile applications for the US Army. Talk about covering all branches!
But throughout my career, one passion remained constant: web development. I’ve been creating websites since 1990 – that’s over 34 years now! I’ve owned my own computer store, served as an IT Director for a medical group, and now, in my “retirement,” I’m pouring all that experience into Grand Canyon Web Design.
For me, web design isn’t just a job – it’s a creative outlet. I love the process of bringing a vision to life on screen, making something both beautiful and functional. It’s work that keeps me engaged, challenges me, and allows me to continue growing even in retirement.
So that’s me – a family man, a retired Veteran, a tech enthusiast, and a web designer with a passion for creating. I bring all of these experiences to every project I work on here at Grand Canyon Web Design. I’m excited to work with you and help bring your web presence to life!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or just want to chat about web design. I’m always happy to share my experiences or hear about your project ideas!
